On February 8, Laguna Art Museum presents its annual auction where guests will see and be seen. Taking inspiration from the stylish 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair, Art Auction 2014: The Art of the Heist will feature glamorous 1960s-inspired décor and the chance to “heist” original works of art by over 100 of California’s most sought after artists such as Charles Arnoldi, Billy Al Bengston, Tony DeLap, Laddie John Dill, and more (click here for a full list of artists). The works will be sold during an exciting silent auction as well as a fast-paced live auction led by Christie’s International Auctioneer Andrea Fiuczynski. Guests will have the opportunity to support the museum’s education and exhibition programs by adding works by prestigious California artists to their collections. Bidding will start at 50% of the stated value, and all proceeds will benefit Laguna Art Museum, a non-profit organization.
In addition to art, guests will enjoy a sampling of exquisite cuisine from local noteworthy restaurants; vintage-inspired cocktails; live DJ entertainment; and live art performances. Attendees will have the chance to mingle with featured artists, fellow collectors, and the museum’s curators and executive director.
Tickets are $125.00 for museum members at the Friend Level and higher, and $150.00 for non-members and members at the Individual and Family Levels.
