A chic crowd of Orangewood PALS members and friends gathered last Thursday at the hip CP Restaurant in Newport Beach for an evening of delicious eats, socializing and fundraising in support of Orangewood Children’s Foundation.
The event was set in the charming open-air bar area of CP, spilling out to the spacious patio which was set with high top tables and inside, a hip yet comfy lounge area which made for some lively mixing and mingling.
“PALS mission is to provide the neglected and abused children of Orange County activity based assistance, love and support,” says Bob Miller, longtime PALS Board Member. “Hopefully we show the kids in the social system that there are adults who are committed to their needs first.”
Members and guests in attendance included Orangewood PALS co-chairs Pei Pei Wang and Tracy Theodore who happily posed for our cameras with Keri Dugan and Katy Higgins as they welcomed guests and PALS members alike.
While bartenders kept busy shaking out martini’s and other specialty drinks, guests were treated to a gallery of opportunity drawings that offered unique items, with all ticket sales, tips and opportunity ticket proceeds going to benefit Orangewood Children’s Foundation.
Guests including Jeff Gilstrap, and Sherri Hudson were seen visiting at the bar along with Craig Reese and Todd Gullett, while Kim Miller, Julie Miller and Michelle Anderson brought smiles to everyone at their table on the patio. Caught enjoying the delicious buffet comprised of CP’s most popular menu items were Megan Acosta, Nicole Pearson, Atur and Sanal Turakhia, Ethan Logan, Suketa Bhatt and Chagga Desai.
As the sunset glowed in the background over Newport Harbor, the DJ got warmed up and supporters James Kelly, Danielle Reyes, Dale Williams, Brad Kinney, Jimmy Montgomery and Glenn Dassoff enjoyed the lounge ambiance.
The event netted approximately $7,000, which will be utilized to support children’s activities at the home.
Orangewood PALS is an auxiliary of Orangewood Children’s Foundation, which was established in 1996 with the goal of providing assistance, love, and support to Orange County’s children.
Stephanie Argyros Gehl started the organization with a group of 100 supporters invited to a cocktail reception with the goal of making a positive impact on the issues of child abuse and neglect in Orange County. The organization’s mission is to show abused victims that they matter and provide them with unconditional love and support.
To date, Orangewood PALS has achieved this goal by supporting Orangewood Children’s Foundation programs for current and former foster children and those placed at Orangewood Children’s Home. Their fundraising efforts support scholarships and mentoring programs, tours, field trips, and other fun activities for the children.
